It was easy to program and has been working flawlessly ever since. The padded shelves are simple to configure and adjust to meet changing storage needs.
The safe came with 3/8″ concrete anchors, but I personally upgraded them to 1/2″ for added stability.
If you’re installing the safe in a garage or basement, I recommend placing it on low-pile carpeting, as it makes it easier to slide the 385-pound safe into position before marking and drilling for the anchors.
Alternatively, you can use furniture sliders, but they require more effort.
For humidity control, I recommend adding a magnetic humidity gauge inside the door and installing an electric dehumidifier rod.
This ensures optimal humidity levels without constant monitoring. However, it’s crucial to decide on this setup beforehand since you’ll need to run a power cord through the small hole at the bottom of the safe, which also means positioning it near an electrical outlet.
I opted for reusable canister dehumidifiers, which work well but require periodic reactivation by baking them for six hours.
In hindsight, I wish I had used an electric rod, but my safe is mounted in concrete, and I no longer have access to the cord hole.
One important note about all gun safes, they won’t hold the advertised number of long guns.
