Thoughts From A Neighbors
I’m writing this review to address some misconceptions about the Sig Sauer Romeo5 Compact Red Dot Sight.
First, let me clarify that this product is 100% genuine and comes directly from Sig Sauer.
However, to offer faster shipping, Sig ships some of these units to Amazon, where they are stored in plain brown boxes instead of the fancier retail packaging you might see in stores.
This is completely normal and doesn’t affect the quality of the product.
The, Sig offers two versions of this red dot sight, one that includes both high and low mounts and another (this version) that only includes the high mount.
If you order this version, don’t expect a low mount, this can be verified on Sig Sauer’s website.
When I first received mine, it seemed like it wouldn’t power on after inserting the battery.
However, I quickly realized that you simply need to press the brightness “+” button on top of the sight to turn it on.
The same button also serves as the power button, hold it down to turn the sight on or off.
Once I adjusted the brightness, the red dot turned on without any issues.
In terms of performance, this is an excellent budget-friendly red dot sight.
It looks great, has a clear and bright green dot, and feels solidly built.
I’m excited to take it to the range and see how it performs in real-world conditions. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a reliable and affordable optic.”

Thoughts from A Neighbors
As a Gunsmith with 44 years of experience, I’ve mounted countless RMR-type sights, and the Sig Sauer ROMEOZero Reflex Sight stands out for its simplicity and performance.
I mounted it on my Glock 27 (.40 S&W) using a dovetail mounting plate for my personal EDC firearm.
The MOTAC (Motion Activated Illumination) impressed me right away. The sight activates with the slightest movement, making it ready when you need it but conserving battery life by turning off when still.
The red dot presentation is excellent, and I recommend adjusting the brightness to mid-level for optimal performance in both bright sunlight and darkness.
Experimenting with brightness settings will help shooters find what works best for their needs.
I tested the sight at 7 yards and found the elevation perfect, though minor windage adjustments were necessary.
The adjustment screws are clearly marked, with pronounced, solid clicks for precise tuning.
After firing over 50 rounds post-adjustment, the sight held zero perfectly, and all screws remained secure.
As an NRA-certified pistol instructor and Training Counselor, I highly recommend the ROMEOZero for defensive shooting.
It offers faster target acquisition and tighter groupings compared to traditional iron sights.
The small size and excellent sight picture make it a great choice for concealed carry firearms.
Lastly, I purchased this sight myself and am not compensated in any way for this review. Be safe and shoot well.

Thoughts From A Neighbors
I’ve been running the SIG SAUER Romeo-X Compact on my EDC P365 X-Macro, and it has performed exceptionally well so far.
The build quality and design are impressive, and the battery life has been consistent. The dot is crisp and clear, making it easy to acquire targets quickly.
The button placement is simple and intuitive, and the side-access battery compartment is a great feature, allowing battery changes without having to re-zero the optic.
I’ve had issues with Holosun optics in the past (2 out of 3 failed), so I decided to give the ROMEO-X Compact a try, and I’ve been very pleased with its reliability and performance.
For those who looking for a micro red dot for a compact handgun, I’d definitely recommend this optic.
